My blog started in 2007 as a journal of my trek to the summit of Mount Kenya to raise money for Vision Africa. Since then I have tried to keep the blog going with occasional thoughts and updates about issues concerning me as Chairman of the charity, which I hope you will find interesting. Of course all the history of the trek is still buried in the blog archive - starting in June 2007. Newest Posts are at the top, so best to read from the bottom.

I am a part time volunteer and Chairman of Vision Africa. I live in Watford and am married with 3 grown up boys. In my day job I run a busy global Service Design team for BT (British Telecom). I have been Chairman of Vision Africa since it's inception in 2001. While it is sometimes difficult to give it the time it deserves, I count being Chairman as a real privilege. Of course, I'm not a one man band and we have a great team at Vision Africa that makes our work possible. This blog started in September 2007 when I led a fundraising challenge to Trek to the top of Mount Kenya. With the support of my friends and colleagues we were able to raise a fantastic amount of money (around £20k) which provided support for a lot of children!
